Join us Saturday and Sunday in NYC!
This Saturday, July 29th, we will conduct the second session of our reading series in the parks of New York City. See the poster below for details.
Afterward, join us as we witness the unveiling of comrades Gran Om and Kloer Kloerk’s impressive artwork in the Bronx at 4 pm, immediately followed by a celebration of our 2023 summer workshops’ conclusion. Savor with us the delicious culinary experience brought to us by La Morada NYC, an undocumented indigenous mutual-aid kitchen.
Throughout the pandemic, La Morada served close to 5,000 meals weekly. Their establishment features a large "REFUGEES WELCOME" sign written in red letters on its front door. For years, they have been an epicenter of direct action and mutual aid for the migrant and unhoused communities in the Bronx. The restaurant, run by activist and organizer Yajaira Saavedra, has been at the vanguard in assisting asylum seekers from Texas and Arizona to get enough clothing and food ever since southern xenophobic governors implemented their draconian measures to expel our most vulnerable populations.
Stop by for an evening of comradeship, live music, art, and performances, alongside the welcoming and invigorating community at Casa de los Pueblos, who we have had the pleasure to get to know and make lasting memories with while weaving our struggles together for a world that transcends the chains of this suffocating mode of production.
Finally, on Sunday, July 30th, taller ahuehuete will be at Woodbine NYC, revisiting our 2021 essay Mirrors and Mirages in Slumil K'Ajxemk’op, examining how these ideas around international solidarity can manifest today, and why they matter.
Stop by La Casa de los Pueblos in the Bronx to pick up the latest as well as past free issues of El Molino Informativo.
El Molino Informativo is an alternative media outlet edited by migrants, independent journalists and activists to dismantle oppressive narratives and promote autonomous voices. We believe in communication without borders.
